35 U.S. Senators sent a letter to the USDA demanding answers about the dismantling of the U.S. Forest Service. Led by Senators Klobuchar, Heinrich, Merkley, and Padilla, the letter calls out the March 31 reorganization as a threat to the agency’s ability to do its job managing 193 million acres of national forest, preventing wildfires, and serving the public. They want answers by May 1.
