YES, MASSIE REALLY SAID THAT AND A WHOLE LOT MORE – I HAVE THE TRANSCRIPT FOR YOU

If you are on social media at all – and clearly you are because you’re reading this – you may have seen some social media accounts posting the following, attributed to Rep. Thomas Massie as part of his concession speech after he was primaried out by Trump, and in which he seems to be threatening – someones – now that he is freed up to do whatever he wants in Congress because he’s leaving Congress in seven months:

“We need basic decency. That’s what the Epstein Files Transparency Act was all about. By the way, today is the six month anniversary of the Epstein-Files Transparency Act.

We’ve taken out two dozen CEOs, an ambassador, a prince, a prime minister, a minister of culture. And that was just six months. I’ve got seven months left in Congress.”

Now, as you know, before I post anything I make darned sure that it is true and accurate. And one of the problems with trying to confirm a statement which was *said on video* or *in person* is that when you search for it online often you only get social media accounts reporting it.

So, I went to the authenticated video online (official YouTube accounts and PBS) and listened to make sure that he actually, you know, said those things. And *then* ordered up a transcript of the whole speech for you, which I’m including for Notes from the Front members, along with a local copy of the video of his concession speech.

I’ve always said that Trump primarying out someone who doesn’t agree with him means that person will be freer to vote their conscience* because they have little to lose. How he doesn’t see that is beyond me. (*Now, their conscience may not agree with your conscience, but it also doesn’t agree with Trump’s views, at least on some things big enough to cause Trump to want to 86 them.)

Now, remember, he’s a Republican, so you may not like some (or even much) of what you read. But this is proof that he is going to continue to pursue the people on those Epstein files, and to (attempt to) hold the administration accountable for their failures under the Epstein File Transparency Act.

P.S. If you actually read all the way to the bottom please leave a comment that includes the words “seven months”. It will show me that my efforts aren’t in vain and that people actually *do* read these things, and it will drive those who just skim crazy wondering just why everyone is talking about something happening in seven months! ;~)
