WOW!! *36* MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS ENTERED ON CONGRESSIONAL RECORD WARNING OF TRUMP’S MENTAL INSTABILITY (Transcript included)
A couple of weeks ago Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed entered into the Federal Congressional Register a statement from 36 eminent “neurologists, forensic psychiatrists, general psychiatrists, and other physicians, along with other mental health professionals, experienced in the diagnosis of cognitive disorders and in evaluating dangerousness to self and others”, expressing grave concern over Trump’s mental state.
Bottom line, in plain Engish, these 36 eminently-qualified medical, psychiatric, mental health, and public health professions think that the current occupant of the Oval Office is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
I am including both the original, and a transcript (same exact words, just easier on the eyes) for Notes from the Front members. In the original the entry starts about three-quarters of the way down the first column (the Register is laid out like a newspaper -you remember those, right?)
First, they go out of their way to make clear that there are both Democrats and Republicans among them, and liberals and conservatives, and individuals from all sorts of ethnicities, races, and religions. In other words, this isn’t a partisan agenda, it’s a sanity and safety agenda.
Among other things, these thirty-six experts have observed, in the President of the United States:
“Marked deterioration in cognitive functioning, evidenced by disorganized and tangential speech, rambling digressions, factual confusions, unexplained sudden changes of course in strategic matters, both national and international, episodes of apparent somnolence during critical public proceedings.
Grandiose and delusional beliefs, including assertions of infallibility, imagery of himself as Pope suggestive of a divine mission, being a mythical warrior hero, depicting himself as combat pilot—dropping feces on civilians, and claims that his decision-making authority is unlimited—with no need to consider domestic and international laws and constrained only by his “own morality.””
They go on to describe several other troubling symptoms, and add that due to their oaths and ethics, “we are compelled to warn of a President of the United States who is increasingly a danger to the public.”
They also include things like the following:
“It is our professional opinion that the behaviors of Donald Trump, tragically, are neither momentary lapses nor political theater. It is our professional opinion that they reflect a rapidly worsening, reality-untethered, increasingly dangerous decline.”
And
“If we were called upon under the 25th Amendment to judge the President’s present ability to discharge the duties of his office, we would have to conclude that he lacks the capacity to do so.”
Remember, these aren’t discussions happening behind closed doors. These are statements by licensed professionals putting their credentials on the line – IN THE CONGRESSIONAL RECORD.
