Well it looks like I got my “pet” wasps into the box just in time! (I’m being facetious about the “pet” although I do feel a responsibility for them as I knocked their tiny little “nest” down by accident, and I have been astonished at how tenaciously the adult wasps cling to that little tiny scrap of nest in order to protect the larva. I wanted to remove them from my deck without either of us coming to harm, so getting the super-long grabber and moving the nest into the box was step one towards relocating them.
