We wanted to take a moment to thank Judge Angel Kelley of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Judge Kelley has temporarily blocked the National Park Service from removing, covering, or revising signs, films, exhibits, and other educational materials at national parks to comply with a Trump administration directive. The order pauses enforcement of an executive action that called for the removal of materials deemed to “inappropriately disparage Americans” or portray the United States “in a negative light.” The ruling also requires the National Park Service to restore any exhibits or materials that were altered or dismantled, with restoration to be completed within three weeks.
