Today, in a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court allowed the administration to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for more than 350,000 Haitians and roughly 6,000 Syrians. TPS allows people from countries experiencing war, natural disasters, or other extraordinary conditions to legally live and work in the United States. With the Court’s ruling, those protections can now be revoked, potentially exposing hundreds of thousands of people to deportation unless they are able to obtain another lawful immigration status.
