This will shock absolutely no one, but today on Meet the Press, Attorney General Todd Blanche refused to pledge that he would always act independently of the White House. The Justice Department has already pursued investigations or prosecutions involving a growing list of Trump’s political opponents and critics, including James Comey, Letitia James, Adam Schiff, John Brennan, John Bolton, Chris Krebs, Miles Taylor and Mark Kelly. His refusal to make that basic commitment raises even more concern that this pattern of politically targeted investigations and prosecutions will continue.
