THIS JUST IN! FIRST LAWSUIT OVER THE ANTI-WEAPONIZATION FUND IS FILED!
Not to say that I told you so, but I told you that I was confident that the lawsuits would be coming soon! Just two days after the “anti-weaponization” fund was announced, the first shot has been fired, and it’s not across the bow. It’s aimed directly at the heart of that bogus slush fund.
The piéce de résistance? The plaintiffs are two police officers who were there at the Jan6 riot.
And the lawsuit filed by Officers Harry Dunn and Daniel Hodges pulls no punches right out of the gate. In fact they start with a 1-2 punch, literally. The *very first sentence* in the Complaint is:
“In the most brazen act of presidential corruption this century, President Donald J. Trump has created a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund to finance the insurrectionists and paramilitary groups that commit violence in his name.”
And the *very next* sentence is:
“The fund, styled the “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” is illegal. No statute authorizes its creation, the settlement on which it is premised is a corrupt sham, and its design violates the Constitution and federal law.”
BAM! POW!
(Holy Batman noises!)
In their 29-page complaint (included for Notes from the Front members) Dunn and Hodges lay out in exquisite detail their own background, their role in attempting to protect the capitol on January 6, and the role of the Jan6 rioters, the very people whom you know this fund was set up to pay (did you *hear* Vance say that Tina Peters was a likely candidate??).
They then go on to explain all the different ways that the fund violates the Administrative Procedures Act, and the Federal Declaratory Judgment Act, and that it is also an Ultra Vires (outside of the law, i.e. unlawful) action on the part of the DOJ and the Treasury.
Then they ask the Court to hold that the fund is unlawful, and that the funding of it is unlawful, *and* also to issue injunctions against the transfer of funds and clawing back any payments that have already been made (I don’t know that any have been made, but it was prudent to ask that even if there haven’t been any payments yet).
And now, after reporting this breaking news, I’m going back to writing the piece that I actually had scheduled for today, “The Dark Secret in the DOJ’s Retooling of the Consumer Protection Branch”, watch for it in a couple of hours (I’m committing this to writing so that I have to actually get it out for you. :~) )

It will show me that my efforts aren’t in vain and that people actually *do* read these things, and it will drive those who just skim crazy wondering just why everyone is talking about Batman! ;~)
