The Trump administration is trying to change what science is allowed to be taught, and now a West Point professor who taught there for 17 years says he is being pushed out after speaking up about it.
Dr. Adam Kalkstein says he was ordered to remove information about the human causes of climate change from his curriculum. When he pushed back, he said it made him feel like “a liar and a fraud.” Now West Point has decided not to renew his appointment.
It’s just silly. These are future military leaders. Climate change is going to affect bases, disasters, the Arctic, national security and conflicts for decades. They need to understand it. Pretending the science doesn’t exist doesn’t prepare anyone for the future.
