The Trump administration has now reversed the layoffs of a lot of federal employees. At the CDC, officials said some staff were mistakenly terminated due to a procedural error. Those affected included members of the federal measles response unit, personnel managing Ebola containment efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Epidemic Intelligence Service, and the team responsible for producing the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
