The pressure campaign is working. The Forest Service just spoke out, attempting to explain what they’re calling “fact vs. fiction.” Don’t trust this administration, all they do is lie. They know they’re losing businesses are pulling away, and everyone is speaking out.

Let’s look at what they’re actually claiming and what’s really going on.

They say transferring federal lands to states has “never been discussed.” Technically, no formal transfer has been announced. But they’re moving headquarters to Utah a state actively suing to seize federal public lands. They’re installing state directors accountable to state political interests. That’s not a coincidence. That’s a blueprint.

They say state director roles will be filled by career employees, not political appointees. Maybe on paper. But when your “career” director answers to state politicians, the title doesn’t matter much.

They say research won’t stop, just relocating to fewer facilities. What they won’t tell you: they’re closing research facilities in more than 30 states. Meanwhile, the proposed budget would cut 90% of wildland fire management staff and 70% of national forest system staff. That’s not relocation. That’s demolition.

They say this isn’t designed to force employees out. Ask the BLM how that worked out. When Trump relocated them the first time, the agency lost 87% of its staff not through firings, but because employees wouldn’t uproot their lives. Experts say the Forest Service is next, at a much larger scale.

The myth is that this is a reorganization. The fact is it’s a dismantling, carefully worded to avoid outright lies while gutting everything that makes the agency function.
