The EPA announced it will appoint industry representatives from chemical and other sectors to its Science Advisory Board (SAB), alongside academics and other scientists. The new appointments come more than a year after the administration “reset” the board by dismissing all of its sitting scientists. Stacking the SAB with industry reps is rigging the system for polluters the board’s scientific advice directly shapes the environmental regulations those same industries are subject to.
