The DNC has sued the Trump administration for FOIA records because it wants to know whether federal agents are planning to seize ballots, voting machines or other election-system components during the 2026 midterms. After FBI agents seized more than 600 boxes of archived 2020 election materials from Fulton County earlier this year, the DNC requested records concerning any similar plans involving the upcoming election. Nearly five months later, it says the DOJ and FBI have produced no responsive documents, so it is now asking a court to force the agencies to search for and release any records that exist.
