   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 658
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   630 PM EDT Sat Sep 5 2026

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
     Southern South Carolina
     Coastal Waters

   * Effective this Saturday evening from 630 PM until 1100 PM EDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     Scattered damaging wind gusts to 60 mph possible

   SUMMARY...A linear cluster of strong to locally severe thunderstorms
   will continue moving southward into the Watch area this evening. 
   The stronger water-loaded downdrafts will probably yield localized
   60 mph gusts and the potential for scattered wind damage.

   The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 30
   statute miles north and south of a line from 80 miles west of
   Charleston SC to 40 miles east northeast of Charleston SC. For a

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
   favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
   Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
   weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
   warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.

   1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 50 knots. A few
