   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 625
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   555 PM CDT Mon Aug 24 2026

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
     Northwest Minnesota
     Eastern North Dakota

   * Effective this Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning from 555 PM
     until 100 AM CDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
       mph possible
     Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
       inches in diameter possible
     A tornado or two possible

   SUMMARY...A gradual expansion in storm coverage is expected through
   late evening across eastern North Dakota, where a few supercells
   with very large hail near 2 inches in diameter will be possible. 
   Some clustering of convection is expected by early tonight with an
   increase in the threat for wind damage with thunderstorm gusts of
   60-75 mph.  An isolated tornado or two could occur with favorable
   storm interactions.

   The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75
   statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles north northeast
   of Hallock MN to 70 miles south of Jamestown ND. For a complete

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
   favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
   Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
   weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
   warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.
