   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 535
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   635 PM CDT Thu Jul 30 2026

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
     Central and Eastern Nebraska

   * Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 635 PM
     until 100 AM CDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
       mph likely
     Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible
     A tornado or two possible

   SUMMARY...A linear cluster of severe thunderstorms will likely
   progress into the northern portion of the Watch area through the
   early evening and spread into eastern and southern parts of Nebraska
   through the late evening.  Scattered severe gusts 60 to 75 mph are
   possible with the stronger thunderstorm cores and associated
   outflow.  A brief tornado is possible if a supercell can persist
   south of the main east-southeastward surge with the convective line
   over northern Nebraska through the early evening.

   The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80
   statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles south southwest
   of Hastings NE to 40 miles west northwest of Sioux City IA. For a

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
   favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
   Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
   weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
   warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.

   AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
   1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 65 knots. A few
   cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean storm motion vector
