HERE'S WHAT'S UP WITH MELANIA - FROM A LAWYER (DOCUMENTS AND FULL TEXT OF HER REMARKS THIS WEEK INCLUDED)
Everybody is talking about this week's announcement by Melania Trump. Why did she do it? What's going on? What's true? What isn't? Why, it's almost like everyone forgot about Iran, the snuff video that Trump posted on Truth Social and on the White House website and, of course, the Epstein files.
Oops, that last one backfired, didn't it? Because it actually put the Epstein files right back in the spotlight and at the fore of everyone's mind. In fact, Melania's announcement (the first lady doth protest too much, methinks) included a big solid middle finger to the victims, wrapped in a see-through glove of lace. While she purported to say something supportive of the victims ("Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress with the power of sworn testimony") what the actual subtext was is "Victims, out yourself publicly, with humiliating testimony - put up or shut up"...which really isn't all that different than the message the victims got from Epstein, which was "put out and shut up".
Anyway, while everyone was speculating on social media about of what Melania may have been trying to get ahead - what bomb was about to drop - I got to work researching. Being a lawyer, I of course went to source documents as much as I could.
First, let's get a few things out of the way.
Melania said "I never been friends with Epstein," and "To be clear, I never had a relationship with Epstein or his accomplice Maxwell."
Now, there are a lot of pictures floating around showing Melania with Epstein. And a lot of them are likely - or at least can be dismissed as - fakes. So, naturally I went looking for the receipts, and here they are. Look at the first screenshot attached to this post. This is from Getty Images' repository. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Getty Images is not peddling fake images. Not only that, this image is from 2000, well before the dawn of fake images (and well after Epstein's first conviction, so there is no excuse). Sure, some people knew how to manipulate images back then, but it wasn't the issue that it is today. What's more, the credits name the photographer who was there at that party in 2000, and who personally took that picture. And guess what! There are more pictures of good ole' Mel with Epstein in that batch. Now, "Never been friends" and "Never had a relationship"...these are clearly phrases provided to her by her handlers, because 'friends' and 'relationship' are such nice squishy words, aren't they? Your definition of friends and relationship may be very different than mine. But I think that we can all agree on this:

Next:
About the "Trump first had sex with Melania on Epstein's Lolita Express" thing floating around. This allegation is based on something that Epstein allegedly told Michael Wolff. The story goes that Epstein told Wolff that he had introduced Trump to Melania (nee Knauss). This story made it into a book that was released in August of 2025 by Andrew Lownie called 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York'.
This somehow morphed into "The first time Trump and Melania had sex was on Epstein's plane."
Now, thanks to the-projects.org, what I have is an email to Epstein from some redacted person. This email is authenticated as part of the DOJ release, you can see the EFTA number at the bottom. This means that it is an actual email found in Epstein’s received email, not a fake. It was sent on November 9, 2016, the day after Trump won the 2016 election:

So, putting it all together, the most likely scenario is that Trump did first have sex with Melania on a plane, but it was Trump's plane that was flying the very friendly skies.
Now, remember I mentioned that book that came out in August of 2025? And while Michael Wolff didn't write that book, he was doing press around the allegations - and specifically he was quoted several times in an article by The Daily Beast.
As a result, on October 15th, 2025 (so just this past October) Melania's lawyers sent a cease and desist demand letter (included for Notes from the Front members), demanding that Wolff take action by retracting and apologizing for his "defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements made about Mrs. Trump."
Well, Wolff did respond and take action, six days later, on October 21, 2025, by filing a lawsuit against Melania (that complaint is also included for Notes from the Front members).
While Melania's lawyers cite Florida law in their letter, Wolff filed his lawsuit in New York, under New York's Anti-SLAPP lawsuit law ("SLAPP" stands for Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation; a SLAPP lawsuit is basically a troll lawsuit designed to stop someone from speaking out about issues of public concern or interest).
This was an interesting strategic move on the part of Wolff. While he would have almost certainly won a defamation lawsuit brought by Melania (for one thing to prove defamation of a public figure you have to prove not only that what the defendant said was untrue and that they knew it was untrue, but also that they said it with malice). This way Wolff preempted Melania filing a defamation suit, and he did it by claiming that the cease and desist letter (known as a "C&D" in the legal biz) was tantamount to a lawsuit, and so should be treated as a lawsuit, and a SLAPP lawsuit at that.
Well, then Wolff had a devil of a time trying to serve the summons on Melania. In fact, she completely evaded service of that summons. So on December 23rd Wolff's lawyer asked the Judge to order, with all of the publicity, and her own lawyer acknowledging the attempted service, that there was a constructive service - in other words the requirement of her having been served had been satisfied even though nobody had been able to put the summons in her hands.
Guess what happened next? Six days later Melania had the lawsuit removed from the New York court, and transferred to the federal district court. The 34-page Melania motion doing this is also included for Notes from the Front members.
That happened in the last days of 2025, and since then all that has occurred in the case is a lot of letters to the Court, and motions (motion to dismiss or transfer to Florida from Melania, and motion to send the case back to the New York court from Wolff); none of the motions have been ruled on yet.
So, with all that background, back to our original question: what, if anything, was Melania trying to get ahead of with her statement yesterday (again, the full text of the statement is included below).
The odds are good that there are two upcoming disclosures, by two different women, which may be what triggered this statement.
First, try though she might, Bondi is not going to be able to get out of that darned subpoena. And who knows what might come out of her mouth with respect to the Trumps (well, Melania knows). And second there is the little matter of Amanda Ungaro.
Amanda Ungaro was a model who was flown to the United States from Brazil, on one of Epstein's planes, when she was not yet 18. She was represented by Jean-Luc Brunel. Then she became the romantic partner of Paolo Zampolli, and they had a child together. (By the way, Zampolli insists that he was the one who introduced Melania to Trump, and has offered to testify to as much before Congress.)
Ungaro and Zampolli separated and got into a hellacious, bitter custody fight. According to news reports, last summer Ungaro was arrested in Florida on fraud charges related to a medical spa, and while she was in custody, Zampolli, who is a Trump friend and was appointed by Trump as "special representative for global partnerships at the United Nations", dialed up ICE and asked for a favour: deport Ungaro.
And in October of 2025 ICE did just that. They deported her back to Brazil.
In December of 2025 Ungaro, still in Brazil, opened and verified an account on X.
On January 25, 2026 she posted her first tweet, which was innocuous. Then she started responding to other people's tweets, and also posting about the custody situation with her ex (she claims a New York court ordered custody go to her - I have not looked into that). On February 24 she responded to a post about who is in the Epstein files saying "Yes I do know everything". Then some responses here and there as folks realized who she is and that she was on X. And, oh yeah, as she gained a following of thousands. But it wasn't until the day before yesterday (yesterday, of course, being when Melania made her statement) that Ungaro took the gloves off, first tagging Pam Bondi and telling her "Do you fully understand the extent of the information I possess regarding you and the individuals associated with you?"
And then she went straight for Melania, tagging her and saying "I will take legal action against you and your pedophile husband. I have known you for 20 years. You knew I was detained in ICE. You were present in my life - every year on my son’s birthday, even sending Secret Service and being the first to congratulate him, back in 2016. Something was clearly wrong, but I am not part of any evil mission involving children. So what did you do, Melania? You tried to involve me, but you failed — because I have character."
And then:
"I will tear down your corrupt system, even if it’s the last thing I do in my life. I will go all the way - I am not afraid. Maybe you should be afraid of what I know… of who you are, and who your husband is."
Some time between now and then someone, clearly not Ungaru, removed almost all of her posts; but they could still be seen in her 'replies' section. Between the first time I posted about this and her posts - specifically the one tagging Melania - have been removed even from the replies section. But guess what? The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect.
I do not object to their ignorance, but rather, I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.
I never been friends with Epstein.
Donald and I were invited to the same parties as Epstein from time to time, since overlapping in social circles is common in New York City and Palm Beach.
To be clear, I never had a relationship with Epstein or his accomplice Maxwell.
My email reply to Maxwell cannot be categorized as anything more than casual correspondence.
My polite reply to her email doesn't amount to anything more than a trivial note.
I am not Epstein's victim.
Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump.
I met my husband by chance at a New York City party in 1998. This initial encounter with my husband is documented in a detail in my book Melania.
The first time I crossed paths with Epstein was in the year 2000 at an event Donald and I attended together.
At the time, I had never met Epstein and had no knowledge of his criminal undertakings.
Numerous fake images and statements about Epstein and me have been circulating on social media for years now.
Be cautious about what you believe.
These images and stories are completely false.
I'm not a witness or a named witness in connection with any of Epstein's crimes. My name has never appeared in court documents, the depositions, victim statements or FBI in interviews surrounding the Epstein matter.
I have never had any knowledge of Epstein's abuse of his victims.
I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant, was never on Epstein's plane and never visited his private island.
I have never been legally accused or convicted of a crime in connection with Epstein, sex trafficking, abuse of minors and other repulsive behavior.
The false sneers about me from mean spirited and politically motivated individuals and entities looking to cause damage to my good name to gain financially and climb politically, must stop.
My attorneys and I have fought these unfound and baseless lies with success, and will continue to maintain my sound reputation without hesitation.
To date, several individuals and companies have been legally obligated to publicly apologize and retract their lies about me, such as Daily Beast, James Carville and HarperCollins UK.
Now is the time for Congress to act.
Epstein was not alone.
Several prominent male executives resigned from their powerful positions after this matter became widely politicized. Of course, this doesn't amount to guilt, but we still must work openly and transparently to uncover the truth.
I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors.
Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress with the power of sworn testimony.
Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public, if she wishes, and then her testimony should be permanently entered into the Congressional Record.
Then, and only then, we will have the truth. Thank you."
