The Issue:
Oh woe is me I am trying to restore a idevice and my host keeps picking up apple’s servers and says its not allowed OMG what to do.
The Solution:
Change your host’s file to reflect saurik’s server ip.
Windows location: C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetchosts
macs location: /etc/hosts
edit and add 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
Save the file and then yay you should see your new host.
If you are running dnsmasq on a router (like me) then use this simple line.
#address=/gs.apple.com/gs.apple.com.akadns.net/74.208.10.249
This allows me to remove the # and hit apply and immediately resolve apple to cydia’s servers its nice.
