Asked again about my permanent medical isolation – *why* is this so hard to understand? Let me make it *very* simple: if I am exposed to Covid it could trigger a change in my immune condition that could *kill* me. And *very painfully*. It becomes a condition that is *always* fatal, and is, and I quote a doctor here, “one of the most painful ways to die”. Because *it attacks your internal organs*. Do I want that? Hell no! Do you want that for me? I hope not!

This is why my doctor gave me a “TWIMC” letter saying, in part, and again I quote “As part of her medical management, she must take ongoing precautions to limit exposure to others, particularly in indoor group settings or situations involving prolonged close contact. Any situation which requires extended time in enclosed environments with other individuals presents a medically significant risk to her health.”

So, no, I’m not paranoid. I’m sane, and damned lucky to be able to do it. I wish that everybody with this condition could do it. Fortunately, it’s a pretty rare condition (localized scleroderma – exposure to Covid has now been proven to trigger systemic scleroderma in people with localized scleroderma).
