As I ponder having reached number 2 in all of U.S politics on Substack, in thinking about what that means, and of the magnitude of the responsibility that I have to give people facts and truth and useful information, it occurs to me, looking back over my career, how incredibly fortunate I am to have experienced being able to make a difference in the law and in the lives of people both from the top down (having written Federal law that deals with spam), and now from the grass roots up, reporting to people directly from the front line of the battle in the courts to save the soul of our democracy. Oh, and now that I think about it actually from the “middle”, for lack of a better term, as well, teaching future lawyers at the law school. Nobody would have ever imagined that the little girl who was homeless and finding places for herself to live at the age of 11, would have ended up having such a magical career and life. I can certainly tell you that she never imagined it! If current me could travel back in time and tell her “Hang in there, it’s going to be an unbelievable ride, lots of bad but also lots of amazing and you can’t imagine where you end up”, she wouldn’t have believed it, she couldn’t have imagined it. I’m so glad that she did hang in there. I am really, really blessed! 🙏🏻❤️
