A win for voting rights in Ohio! A federal judge just blocked Ohio from enforcing a new rule requiring people to provide documentary proof of citizenship when registering to vote at a motor vehicle bureau. The court found the requirement violates the National Voter Registration Act because Ohio was demanding more than the “minimum amount of information necessary” from these voters than it requires through other registration methods.
