A setback for mail voting ahead of the midterms. A federal judge in Boston lifted her nationwide block on parts of Trump’s mail-in voting restrictions, temporarily clearing the way for the administration to start implementing them.
U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani reconsidered her earlier injunction after the Supreme Court ruled that a separate challenge to Trump’s executive order had been brought too early.
Basically, the restrictions can still be challenged again once Trump actually starts putting them in place. The problem is timing. By the time the courts step in again, the damage to the midterms could already be done.
