WHEN YOU SPREAD MISINFORMATION LIKE “HE IS GOING TO CANCEL ELECTIONS” YOU ARE ACTUALLY HELPING HIM!!!

Anyone who has followed me for even a little while knows that he cannot cancel elections or even delay them, because THE STATES run elections, even federal elections because they aren’t actually federal elections, they are state elections for federal positions (Congress has a little bit of authority to schedule them but that is all). But when you spread this claptrap misinformation or even question it you strengthen him! You are actually doing his bidding! He WANTS people to think that he can cancel elections, so even when you just question it, or even just post that “he wants to cancel elections” you are helping him, you are inferentially spreading the misinformation – putting it out there – that he can cancel elections.

Bottom line: stop spreading this misinformation, it’s what he wants you to do, you are helping him whenever you spread misinformation such as that he can cancel elections.

(This is of course why he is so desperately leaning on states to redistrict, and trying to keep blue states discombobulated, confused, and under siege, because he knows there is a reckoning coming in the November elections and he knows that he can’t cancel them.)

I was so disappointed in MeidasTouch recently. They shared an unverified stat that 45s popularity is at 29% with a meme from a nobody on twitter and simple said ‘yikes’. I though they were a trusted source.

I see that frequently. It’s frustrating

He thinks he can do a lot of things that he can’t do. The problem is that there are far too many enablers in Congress and SCOTUS who are ready to do his bidding. If we can survive until the midterms, relief is in sight. Once we regain control of Congress, we need to begin not by impeaching Trump, but by first impeaching Vance. Congress, not the president, is the authority that can appoint his replacement, who would almost certainly be a Democrat. Then, Trump can either resign and ask Putin for asylum, or be impeached himself. This will likely be followed by a plethora of indictments for the Trump Crime Family. We will have hopefully learned the lesson of letting people get away with major crimes in the interest of “unification.” It didn’t work at the end of the Civil War, it certainly didn’t work for Weimer Germany when Hitler tried to overthrow the government, and we’re still reaping the results of giving Nixon a pardon.

The argument people make is “well what you’re failing to realize is he could use the military to do a military coup and then start rounding up citizens, what do you have to say about that?”

To which I would say: yes, it is an obvious statement that if someone breaks all the laws in the constitution to impose military rule, that would be a bad thing and that is hypothetically something any president of a country might try. Something that would immediately trigger massive protests that would dwarf all the previous ones.

But we are talking about what legally can be done because at this moment, we are still a nation of laws as evidenced by you pointing out the sheer number of court cases, the administration has lost and is still overwhelmingly complying with their orders with only minimal exception

If Trump had the power to cancel the elections, his press secretary would float that as something he is seriously considering rather than pushback and claim it was a joke

He doesn’t. There are plenty of things he can do to try and interfere and we should be aware of that. But saying he has the power right now to stop all elections is not true.

This is so frustrating. Whenever I see it, I clarify and tell them to stop being as dramatic as he is, lol. It’s crazy how misinformed people are. Thank you for being a voice of reason.
