Remember scientists aren’t giving up. After the Trump administration redirected Climate.gov and dismissed many of the federal employees who maintained it, former staff members launched a new independent website called Climate.us to help keep trusted climate information available to the public.
For years, Climate.gov served as a go-to resource for researchers, educators, journalists, emergency planners, insurers, and communities looking for reliable climate data. With much of that work now harder to access, the people who built it are working to ensure the public can still find the information they need. Public access to scientific data matters and shouldn’t disappear because of political decisions.
