It turns out there was voter fraud in Georgia but done by Elon Musk’s political operation, not individual voters.
The Georgia State Elections Board voted to issue a formal letter of reprimand to Musk’s America PAC over improper election mailers sent during the 2024 cycle. Georgia, one of the most fiercely contested battleground states, was a major focus of Trump-aligned campaigning and outside political spending.
The controversy began in October 2024, when the Georgia Secretary of State’s office launched an investigation after receiving numerous complaints from residents across multiple counties. Voters reported receiving absentee ballot applications that were partially prefilled with their personal information and linked to America PAC, according to State Elections Board Chairman John Fervier.
Under Georgia law, no individual or entity (other than certain authorized relatives or caregivers) is permitted to send voters absentee ballot applications prefilled with the voter’s required information. Vice Chairman Janice Johnston said there was evidence suggesting America PAC’s mailers violated that statute.
Officials also found that the mailers failed to clearly disclose that they were not official government documents, were not issued by the state, and were not actual ballots disclaimers required to prevent voter confusion.
While the board stopped short of criminal penalties and instead issued a formal reprimand, the findings add fuel to ongoing debates about election integrity and the role of powerful outside political groups in battleground states.
